Carrick Youth sides progress in Cup Competitions.
Saturday 28 March saw all three of Carrick Youth sides, who are sponsored by NK Fencing
Ltd, scheduled to travel to away fixtures to compete in cup competition. The club
under 18 side faced a very difficult journey to Omagh missing no fewer than 8 of
the normal starting line up. Coaches Michael Dickson and Warren McClean had worked
hard with the boys during the week to formulate a game play co counteract the formidable
forward strength of the Omagh forwards. The match itself was played on a heavy pitch
suiting the heavy home pack. Carricks forwards battled game fully working hard at
the breakdowns to secure ball for the patched up back line. In a competitive first
half the home side held the advantage 12-
In the other fixtures the Under 16 side received a bye into the 11/4 final of the plate competition due to their opponents to being able to field a team for the fixture. However the boys will be able to get a run out before next weeks match with a Under 16 friendly against Belfast Harlequins having been arranged for this Wednesday night. (Kick off 7.30pm). All players should be at the club no later than 6.30pm for pre match preparation.
